WHY SPRAY FOAM
R-VALUE
Defined, R-value is an insulations ability to resist heat flow. Closed cell has an R-Value of 7 for every inch, open cell has an R-Value of 3.5 for every inch. However, there are many other insulations that have a similar R-Value like cellulose or foam board. What many people do not know is the R-Value is not the only important factor for effective, high preforming insulation.
So what makes spray foam so much better? Its envelope seal and ability to never sag or settle like other insulations. Spray foam R-value will remain the same for the entire life of your home or building.
ENVELOPE SEAL
Defined, envelope seal is the ability to reduce air infiltration through walls, ceilings, and floors. If you could count the number of cracks and crevices in your home you'd be astonished. Air is able to flow in and out of all these spots, taking your heat or air-conditioning out, and allowing the outdoor temperatures in.

Spray foam, unlike other insulations will never sag or settle. It comes out as liquid, expands, and attaches itself to the surfaces its sprayed onto. It closes off all cracks, crevices, and gaps creating an envelope seal throughout your home or building. This envelope seal is what makes spray foam insulation superior to all other insulations.

Fiberglass and cellulose are prone to sagging and settling, they also do not create an air tight seal allowing for hot and cold breaches.

Because these insulations are not air tight, they also allow sound and allergens to easily pass into the home. Many home owners with spray foam report having less allergies inside their home, this is not a benefit you will receive from fiberglas or cellulose.

In 2008, Johnny found himself working for a company called Williams Town Construction spraying foam. Johnny quickly became a foreman for this well established company.
